Alastair Miller in conversation with Ian Dai at Huihe Stone Cultural Park

Follow renowned British photographer Alastair Miller as he journeys to the Huihe Stone Cultural Park in Xiamen, China. Accompanied by Ian Dai, Alastair uncovers the artistry and history of stone carvings and learns about the first museum dedicated to Southern Fujian's stone culture. Follow along as they explore the exquisite carvings crafted from various stones and discover statues of Buddha from the Tang and Song Dynasties, as well as Japanese and European-style carvings. Later, Alastair delves into shadow stone carving and even tries his hand at this ancient craft, which involves carving images into thin stone slabs and then using backlighting to reveal the patterns as shadows.
