Why should I register?
By registering on Viking.TV, you won’t need to fill out all your contact information each time you ask a question on our livestreams or enter a contest. You can also sign up to receive reminders for when upcoming livestreams are about to start.
How do I delete my account?
To delete your account, you need to contact us by contacting us directly at help@viking.tv.
When you delete your Viking.TV account, you won't be able to retrieve the content or information that you've shared on Viking.TV. If you engage with our livestreams, you will be required to fill out contact information each time you ask a question and you will no longer be able to receive reminders for when upcoming livestreams are about to start. If you only want to change your email reminders, click here.
How do I receive livestream reminders?
To receive reminders you must register or be logged in to your account on Viking.TV. Then, hover over "My Account" in the top right of the screen and select "My Reminders" from the dropdown menu. On this page, you can also sign up to receive reminders for when upcoming livestreams are about to start on Viking.TV. The list provides an overview of what each day of the week is offering. You can sign up for all the livestreams, or you can sign up for individual days that interest you.
Why can't I view any of the livestreams?
If you can't view any of the livestreams or you can only see a spinning circle, please first make sure that your computer is up to date and also that your web browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox etc) is up to date. If you're using an old version of either web browsers (especially Internet Explorer or Safari) there is a possibility that the video player will not display or function correctly. Please try using an alternative web browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and see if this resolves the issue.
If this doesn't resolve this issue, get in contact us at help@viking.tv and we'll be more than happy to get to the bottom of this.
How can I stream Viking.TV to my smart device?
Viking.TV content can also be enjoyed in the comfort of your living room, by accessing the website through your TV, or by casting the content from your computer or smartphone. Just follow these easy steps. We've created a great tutorial to help you get on your way on here.
I missed today's livestream; how can I watch it later?
If you missed today's livestream, don't worry; all livestreams on Viking.TV are recorded and available to watch the following day so that you can enjoy the session again or share it with someone who might have missed it. You can find the episode you missed by clicking on the relevant day of the week within the "This Week on Viking.TV" playlist and you will see the previous episodes from those days below.
Why do I only see a spinning circle?
You will see a spinning circle until the streaming starts. If you continue to see a spinning circle after the start of the scheduled session please refresh your page. The livestream should play automatically in most browsers, but if you don't see anything please click the play icon in the video window. If you cannot hear any sound, please ensure that your speakers are turned on and your sound is not muted.
How can I access Viking.TV?
If you're seeing this, you're already on Viking.TV, where we provide free-to-watch livestream and on-demand programming. Our library of programs is available to watch online, from short documentaries and interviews to reading lists, filmographies and classical music concerts - and much more.
Are closed captions available?
Unfortunately, at this time we do not support closed captioning for our livestreams, but for most of our on-demand content we embed YouTube which offers a closed caption feature that automatically generates captions. It's not perfect, but you can activate this by hovering over the video and click on the "CC" icon as shown below:
How can I purchase the Finse books or items from the Viking Store?
At this point in time, we do not have a store for any products that we talk about on Viking.TV. We do usually include links to any products we talk about in our livestreams though, so just look out for the button on the livestream page or get in contact with us via the question/comment form.
Will Viking be adding more content to Viking.TV?
Yes of course! We are continuously adding new on-demand content to Viking.TV alongside our weekly livestreams. You may not notice it at all times, but we are adding new episodes to existing series all the time; check out Destination Performers, Crew Messages and Destination Insights!
Is the music played in onboard public areas available on Viking.TV?
You can find numerous videos on Viking.TV featuring classics from our onboard musicians such as our classical trios and resident guitarists, as well some of our most popular destination performances. We have provided recordings of various classics we thought you might enjoy at home. Happy listening!
How can I search for specific videos?
You can now search for livestream events, series and episodes that you are interested in watching on Viking.TV. On a desktop or laptop computer, you can do this at the top of your screen and click inside the search box and type whatever you desire and press enter. On a mobile device, simply tap the magnifying glass icon and again type what you are looking for.
Can I share the link to Viking.TV?
Of course! Viking.TV is completely free-to-access for everyone, whether you've cruised with us or not. You can either simply copy the link found in your browsers' address bar, or you can share to Facebook, Twitter or Send to a Friend from the icons found in the top right of your screen. If you're on a mobile device, click on the share icon (three-dotted lines) to reveal the share options.
I have footage of my cruise; can I share this with Viking.TV?
At the moment we don't have a way that you can share video footage with us, but keep an eye out if we launch a video contest in the near future. In the meantime, you can share photos from your cruises on our #MyVikingStory page here.
How can I share my thanks to crew members, or anyone in the Viking Family?
If you are a Viking traveler and have any greetings you would like to share with your Viking family, we welcome you to write a message or film a short message on your phone or camera (ideally in landscape mode) and email it to vikingfamily@viking.com. We will share it internally and select as many as we can to feature on this channel. If the video file is large, we recommend that you upload the video to a cloud-based sharing solution such as WeTransfer, Dropbox, iCloud or Google Drive and then copy and paste the public link within the email.
