Journey of a Ship: The Viking Venus Story

Hosted by Karine Hagen

On May 17, Norwegians—and members of the Viking family—around the world celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day, signifying Norway’s independence. On this day in 2015, we introduced the first ship in our ocean fleet, Viking Star, with a traditional naming ceremony in Bergen. Today, join us as we officially welcome Viking Venus to our ocean fleet. Follow her journey, from the drawing board to welcoming crew on board, during a special program with Karine Hagen, Executive Vice President of Viking, along with members of our Viking family. Get an exclusive look at the ship’s planning and construction, key milestones—including her float out—and the moment when British journalist Anne Diamond was asked to be the vessel’s godmother. In addition, enjoy insights from our crew, who are excited to welcome guests back to sailing this summer.
