Anne Diamond learns about marine species research with Professor Jessica Meeuwig, co-founder of Blue Abacus

Hosted by Anne Diamond OBE and her guest Jessica Meeuwig

Learn about the work of Professor Jessica Meeuwig, Director of the Centre for Marine Futures at the University of Western Australia and co-founder of Blue Abacus, supplier of the BRUVs (Baited Remote Underwater Video Systems) used on board our expedition ships. During a conversation with British journalist Anne Diamond, Professor Meeuwig shares how images and data collected by BRUVs have contributed to the research of populations for various marine species. She also explores why counting fish is important for this research, showing us some of the rare and unique species she has encountered throughout her career. We are delighted to welcome Professor Meeuwig on board Viking Octantis for our inaugural Great Lakes expeditions as a visiting scientist.
