Retired Energy Executive
A retired executive with over 30 years of experience in the energy industry and five in the mineral industry, Dee Marcoux has worked for Imperial Oil Ltd, Petro-Canada, Ontario Hydro, Suncor, CS Resources and Ensyn Group. She has also served as director on the boards of the following publicly traded companies: SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., National Bank of Canada, Placer Dome Inc. and Sherritt International. She holds a BE, MBA and honorary PhD from Queen’s University.
In the non-for-profit sector, Dee has been a director on the Sustainable Development Technology Board, a Federal Government funding initiative, and Vice Chair of the National Roundtable for the Economy and the Environment. She was also Director in Residence at The Directors College and still gives lectures on diversity in decision-making.
Dee retired as Director with Sherritt International Inc. in 2017, and she and her husband Michel spent three years traveling the world with Viking. She loves being at sea, and when on land her passion is geology. She also studies the maintenance ethic in the countries she visits, an area of interest beginning with her work experience on major operations and engineering and construction sites around the world.
In the last two years while travel was interrupted due to Covid, Dee and Michael worked on establishing foundations in support of specific sustainability initiatives.
