Tor Jaran Apold

Our friend Tor Jaran Apold has been part of every single Viking ocean naming ceremony. He is one of Norway’s most highly acclaimed violinists, partly for his unique, gripping arrangements of Edvard Grieg, Ole Bull and stunning Norwegian hymns, and partly for the very special combination of delicacy and power he shows on his priceless violin made in the year 1760. Tor Jaran presents his own deeply personal arrangements of the breathtaking Nordic music of his childhood, and here shares a piece based on a folktune from Hallingdal "Eg veit i himmerik ei borg” with us in lieu of the Destination Performance he would currently be performing on board.
