Tom Hart-Dyke
Thomas Guy "Tom" Hart Dyke is an English horticulturist, author and modern-day plant hunter from the Hart Dyke family. He is the son and heir of Guy and Sarah Hart Dyke at the family seat of Lullingstone Castle, Eynsford, Kent. Tom is the designer of the World Garden of Plants located on the castle grounds. This garden contains approximately 8,000 species of plants, many collected by Tom himself from their native environments. As part of his commitment to the field of horticulture, he remains a dedicated patron of the British Cactus & Succulent Society.
Tom is also a writer and well-known on-screen personality. His bestselling book, The Cloud Garden, details his harrowing tale of a plant hunting expedition through the Colombian jungle. He starred in A Dangerous Obsession, a film that shared his passion for orchids, and presented an episode of Great British Garden Revival.
