Steve Osborne OBE
Steven Osborne OBE is a distinguished British pianist celebrated for his profound artistry and versatility in a broad repertoire. His recent accolades include the prestigious Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for music services, awarded in the 2022 Queen’s New Year Honours. Osborne’s exceptional talent has been recognized with multiple Gramophone Awards and BBC Music Magazine Awards, affirming his status as one of Britain’s most treasured musicians.
In the 2022/2023 season, Osborne continues to captivate audiences with his recitals, revisiting Beethoven and Rachmaninov, interspersed with his improvisations and works by Franz Schubert. His performances at world-renowned venues, including the Wiener Konzerthaus and Amsterdam Concertgebouw, are a testament to his international acclaim.
Osborne’s recording career is equally impressive, with his 33rd release for Hyperion Records featuring solo works by Debussy. His extensive discography has garnered numerous awards, including two Gramophone Awards and three Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik Awards.
Mr. Osborne contributes as a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is also a patron of the Lammermuir Festival in Haddington. In recognition of his contributions to music and education, Osborne was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, further solidifying his legacy in the arts.
