Stein Olav Henrichsen has been the director of the Munch Museum since 2010. He has been the artistic and administrative leader of the contemporary orchestra BIT20, Opera West and the Bergen National Opera. After completing his musical education, Stein Olav was a professional musician for 18 years. He has established and led a number of cultural institutions, and serves on several cultural boards. He has broad experience from international developmental projects and cooperations and is a state cultural-political adviser.
