James Lowen
James Lowen is an award-winning author and photographer who writes about the nexus between wildlife, travel and conservation. A childhood exploring the Yorkshire coast inspired a lifelong passion in him for all things natural. A prolific writer, James has contributed to such publications as The Telegraph, BBC Wildlife, Nature's Home and The Countryman, among others. His next book, due for release in May 2021, Much Ado About Mothing: A Year Intoxicated by Britain’s Rare and Remarkable Moths is a travel narrative viewing Britain through the prism of moths, “the underdogs” of the animal kingdom. His previous books include Antarctic Wildlife: A Visitor's Guide, and, from 2022, he will bring his expertise as a Viking Ornithologist on board Viking Polaris and Viking Octanis on their sailings to the polar regions.
