Helen moved to the Orkney Islands in 2002 to study for a master's degree in marine biology. In 2004, she also trained to become a local guide in the islands and then transitioned into her current career. Beyond being a remarkable Viking guide, Helen is also an avid swimmer and a founding member of the Orkney Polar Bears. She lives in a rural corner of Orkney with her husband and three daughters.
