David Allen
David Allen is a respected figure in the heritage railway community, best known for his long-standing service as a station master and volunteer at the Llangollen Heritage Railway in North Wales. Over decades of dedicated work, David became a familiar and friendly presence for passengers, known for his deep knowledge of the railway’s history, excellent customer service skills, and warm personality.
His career includes serving as a director for the Llangollen Railway PLC from 1996 to 1999, during a key period of the railway’s preservation and development. Even after stepping down from formal roles, David continued to volunteer, helping to operate one of Britain’s most scenic heritage railways, which runs through the Dee Valley—an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
David’s contributions have been celebrated by colleagues and the wider railway community, who regard him as a credit to the line and a valued ambassador for preserving its Victorian charm.
