Aaron Lawton has been involved in the polar expedition cruise industry since 1998 and has served as an expedition leader or kayak guide on nearly 200 voyages to these remote environments. Over more than two decades in operations management, he has contributed to the development of many of the best practices that make up the core of polar expedition cruise activities. Aaron and his wife, Cathy, once spent two weeks kayaking the length of the Antarctic Peninsula.  
 
A fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society, he has also been awarded the Erebus Medal for his involvement in the 2014 Victoria Strait Expedition that discovered the HMS Erebus, lost in the Canadian Arctic since Sir John Franklin's ill-fated 1845 expedition in search of the Northwest Passage.
