Victor Vescovo

Investor and Guinness World Record holder
United States

Victor Vescovo is an American private equity and venture capital investor and former naval officer with expertise in the aerospace, defense and life sciences industries. Yet he is perhaps best known as a space tourist, undersea explorer and Guinness World Record holder. Victor was the 12th American to complete the Explorer’s Grand Slam, an adventurer’s challenge to reach the North Pole, the South Pole and all the Seven Summits on each continent. He is one of the 49 individuals who have completed a Last Degree Grand Slam, which involves skiing at least 62 miles (100 kilometers) to the North and South Poles.

Victor has personally been to the bottom of 17 deep ocean trenches and is the first person to visit “The Five Deeps,” the deepest point in each of the world’s oceans. He earned a Guinness World Record in 2019 for his solo descent into the Eastern Pool of the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench—Earth’s lowest known point. He has also made three dives to the RMS Titanic, including the only solo dive ever made there. Most recently, Victor located and dove on the deepest and second-deepest wrecks in history at the sites of the USS Johnston and USS Samuel B. Roberts.

A commercially rated multi-engine jet and helicopter pilot and a certified submersible test pilot, Victor recently flew into space on Blue Origin’s New Shephard-21 mission, becoming the first person in history to climb Mount Everest, explore the bottom of the ocean and visit space. He also served in the US Navy Reserve as an intelligence officer for 20 years before retiring as a commander. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a master’s degree from Massachusetts institute of Technology (MIT) and an undergraduate degree from Stanford University.
