Thomas Bogler currently manages and develops the infrastructure of Viking and is responsible for the technical ship operation of our river fleet in Europe. Prior to joining Viking in 1999, he was employed at Köln-Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt AG from 1986 to 1998 in various roles of responsibility. Thomas has always had an interest in European rivers, pursuing a diverse nautical career in cruising, ship management and safety. He began his professional career by attaining a nautical education as well as a captain’s license to navigate inland vessels. Later, he led courses in ship management safety in Duisburg, and was also an examiner for inland navigation qualifications. Additionally, Thomas is an arbitrator (surrogate/associate judge) for the Industrie und Handelskammer Neiderrhein, a ship court based in Duisburg, Germany.
