Susannah Constantine
With over 25 years of experience in the media, Susannah Constantine is an accomplished novelist, journalist and podcaster. Before journalism, Ms. Constantine worked in education, PR and fashion. Her career in fashion began in retail at Giorgio Armani, and then involved designing clothing for several London-based designers, including Richard James, Patrick Cox, Alistair Blair and John Galliano.
Her work in fashion media took off when, in 1994, Ms. Constantine met Trinny Woodall at a party hosted by David Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley. The two women wrote Ready to Wear, a weekly style guide for The Daily Telegraph for seven years. This experience led the pair to write a book titled What Not to Wear, which won a British Book Award and sold an estimated 670,000 copies. Due to the book’s popularity, the BBC launched a makeover reality TV show by the same name with Ms. Constantine and Ms. Trinny Woodall as its hosts. The TV series ran for five years, earning a BAFTA Award nomination and bringing the hosts to national prominence.
In January 2020, Ms. Constantine started My Wardrobe Malfunction, a revealing podcast about our relationship with the items we wear. The first season featured interviews with eight high-profile guests, including Michelle Visage, Tan France, Elizabeth Hurley, Nile Rodgers, Trinny Woodall, Joe Sugg, Kristin Scott Thomas and Stacey Dooley. The podcast wrapped its ninth season in 2023.
