British journalist and author Sophy Roberts has been traveling off the beaten path for more than two decades capturing extraordinary moments and inspiring wanderlust among the intrepid. She received her MSt (master of studies) in creative writing from the University of Oxford and her MS (master of science) from the Columbia School of Journalism. Sophy began her career assisting her mentor—investigative journalist and writer Jessica Mitford—as a researcher, before breaking into writing with a two-year stint at Condé Nast Traveler. She regularly contributes to the Financial Times, Condé Nast Traveler (US edition) and Departures, among others. Her first book, The Lost Pianos of Siberia, was published in 2020 to wide acclaim and is currently being translated into seven languages.
