Menno De Sera
Menno de Sera, Director of Planning and Compliance, is a seafarer at heart with more than two decades of nautical experience. Between 1991 and 1993, he attended the KOF Inland Shipping School in Holland. This was followed by three years of service in the Royal Netherlands Navy and its Marine Corps unit, as well as the Netherlands Coast Guard. In 2000, he attained navigational licenses for the Rhine, Danube and Elbe Rivers. And from 2001 to 2014, he worked as a captain for several cruise companies while also completing a Skipper-Machinist Restricted Area (SMBW) program allowing him to helm ships up to 500 GT and 3,000 kw near the Dutch coast. Since 2015, Menno has been part of the Viking family, working his way up from Corporate Captain to Corporate Learning and Quality Manager to his current role as a director, overseeing the scheduling, training and recruitment of Viking crew members.
