Kjartan Olaf Lied

Microbrewery Founder | Trollbryggeriet
Norway

Kjartan Lied is a Norwegian entrepreneur and one of the founders of Trollbryggeriet, a renowned microbrewery located in the small village of Liabygda in Stranda, Norway. Together with co-founder Jørund Ringset, Lied established the brewery in 2009 with a passion for craft brewing and a commitment to local traditions. Under his leadership, Trollbryggeriet became known for its top-fermented ales, particularly the popular Slogen brand, which celebrates the nearby mountain of the same name.

The brewery has experienced steady growth since its inception, including the installation of an automated bottling line in 2011 and an expansion to a new, larger facility in 2016 that increased capacity to approximately 200,000 liters per year. Trollbryggeriet supplies restaurants, retail stores and Vinmonopolet outlets across Norway, contributing to the growing craft beer movement in the region.

As of early 2025, the brewery was listed for sale, though Lied remains actively involved in its operations and the local community. He continues to reside in Stranda, where he is recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to promoting regional craftsmanship and Norwegian brewing heritage.
