Julian Gargiulo
Known as the “pianist with the hair,” Julian Gargiulo is a classically trained pianist, composer and filmmaker who captivates audiences not only with his technical precision but with his comedic wit. In interactive performances that HuffPost has described as “Saturday Night Live meets Carnegie Hall,” Julian invites his audience to abandon all preconceived notions about classical concerts.
In 2015, he presented the first edition of “Getting to Carnegie,” recently rebranded as “The World’s Biggest Stage,” an annual competition featuring classical musicians from all over the world vying for a chance to take the stage at Carnegie Hall. His short documentary based on the competition received the Marion Herrman Excellence in Filmmaking Award at the 2019 Sedona International Film Festival.
Julian’s music and recordings have appeared in movies and documentaries, including the trailer for The Aftermath, produced by Ridley Scott. He performs regularly in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage in Singapore and Sydney’s Seymour Centre.
