Jeremy Musson is a writer, lecturer and consultant, specializing in the field of the history of country houses. He is the author of over 20 books including Up and Down Stairs, the history of the country house servant, published by John Murray, and English Country House Interiors, and most recently Romantics and Classics: Style in the English Country House, published by Rizzoli International.  

A former architectural editor of Country Life, 1998-2007, Jeremey was before that a regional assistant curator for the National Trust in East Anglia. He also co-wrote and presented the BBC Two series The Curious House Guest, visiting country houses as a weekend guest to explore their stories. 

 Jeremy co-edited and co-authored The Country House: Past, Present and Future (2018), with Sir David Cannadine. As a consultant, he works with architects, planners, landscape designers and owners, both on conservation management planning (on buildings such as St Paul's Cathedral, London, Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and William Morris' Red House) and new design in sensitive contexts. He teaches regularly at the University of Cambridge, King’s College London, the University of Buckingham and NYU (London programmes) and he lectures for the Attingham Summer School, for house museum curators, as well as for the Royal Oak Foundation in the USA.
