Ida Bronken, PhD, is the Senior Paintings Conservator at Norway's National Museum in Oslo, where she specializes in modern and contemporary painting conservation, with a strong expertise in material practices, paint chemistry and issues related to soft, dripping or otherwise unstable paint media. Her work bridges conservation science, archival research and curatorial care to preserve 20th-century artworks.
She received her doctorate from the University of Amsterdam in 2022, with the thesis French Connections: Soft and Dripping Paint in Cobra and Art Autre (1949-1972).
