Hugo Vickers is a renowned writer and broadcaster who has crafted biographies of many key figures of the 20th century, including Queen Elizabeth II; Gladys Spencer-Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough; British photographer Cecil Beaton; actresses Vivien Leigh and Greta Garbo; and Alice, Princess Andrew of Greece.  
His latest book, Coronation, was originally published to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s historic 1953 coronation. An earlier work, The Private World of The Duke and Duchess of Windsor, was illustrated with pictures from the royal family’s collection. Mr. Vickers’s book, The Kiss: The Story of an Obsession, won the 1996 Stern Silver Pen Award for Non-Fiction.  
 
Mr. Vickers is also a frequent broadcaster and involved in theatrical productions. He has provided royal commentary for British, American, Canadian and Australian news outlets. In September 2007, he wrote, produced and directed his first one-man show, A Lonely Poet, starring Charles Duff.
