Chavenage House
United Kingdom
Meet George Lowsley-Williams, one of the owners and current residents of the great English estate Chavenage, a beautiful Elizabethan house on the edge of the Cotswolds that many viewers of the Viking-sponsored MASTERPIECE series Poldark will recognize as the iconic Trenwith House. Chavenage was briefly at the center of history during the English Civil Wars when two parliamentary generals—Oliver Cromwell and Henry Ireton—stayed there, and more recently, it has served as a filming location for several period productions. The Lowsley-Williams family has called this iconic estate home for three generations, and they are delighted to open their doors to Viking guests, the occasional film crew and, now, Viking.TV viewers.
