Ed Sobey, PhD, is a polar oceanographer and sea ice specialist, who spent half a winter in Antarctica for research purposes. He has managed five science centers, published 31 books and been awarded two Fulbright Specialist grants. Today, Dr. Sobey travels the world inspiring science teachers to be innovative and lecturing for Semester at Sea, a shipboard undergraduate program.
