Born and raised in Cologne, Germany, from Italian parents, Daniela Scarpati is an accredited European tour guide. She attained her MA in Slavic languages and literature, art history and Italian studies at the University of Cologne. During her university years, she developed her interest in intercultural mediation while working part time as a city guide. This became a recurrent theme throughout her life, whether working in scientific research programs at the university, as a writer for radio programs about Russian culture or as an interpreter and translator of Russian literature, while living in Germany, Italy and Russia. For Viking guests with Privileged Access to the Cologne Cathedral Workshop, Daniela loves sharing her passion and insights on art and architecture from the Middle Ages with visitors from all around the world.
