Christian Garrick is a professor of jazz violin at the Guildhall School of Music, Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music in London. He also plays the goblet drum, or darbuka, and is known for his extraordinary provisional abilities. 
 
In 2009, Christian founded Budapest Café Orchestra along with three other freelance musicians. Known for their wit and charm, the group performs all their songs from memory. Budapest Café Orchestra performs often on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and on Breakfast hosted by Martin Handley. 

Christian serves as Budapest Café Orchestra’s musical director and has completed arrangements of Sergei Rachmaninoff, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Edvard Grieg for the group, as well as numerous traditional Gaelic tunes that have been met with critical acclaim.
