Alexandra Memmel has been a certified guide in her hometown of Würzburg, Germany, for more than three decades. She began working with river cruise travelers in the 1990s and has hosted Viking guests for more than 20 years. 

Alexandra has an MA in English and Italian linguistics and literature. After spending a year in California, she then studied, taught and lived for many years in different parts of Italy. She completed the state exams and teacher's training in Germany and then dedicated herself to showing guests from all around the world to her home region. Additionally, Alexandra also gives presentations of local wines in the Prince -Bishop's Residenz palace in Würzburg. When she is not giving tours, Alexandra loves to go scuba diving.
