Alan Titchmarsh, CBE DL VMH
Alan Titchmarsh is a celebrated British gardener, writer, novelist and broadcaster. His distinguished career spans television, radio, literature and live performance. Best known for programs such as Gardeners’ World, Ground Force, Love Your Garden and Love Your Weekend, Alan is also an accomplished concert presenter, appearing frequently at the Royal Albert Hall. For four years, he hosted the BBC Proms, including Her late Majesty The Queen’s 80th birthday celebration. He has collaborated widely with orchestras, ballet companies and opera houses, and his work as a narrator and presenter includes major national celebrations, royal jubilees and landmark televised events. Alan now hosts a Saturday afternoon show on Classic FM, where he enjoys playing the music he loves best. His free time is spent gardening, helping to juggle four grandchildren and enjoying live theater and the arts. Alan was made MBE in the 2000 New Year Honours list and elevated to CBE in 2025. He currently divides his time between Surrey and the Isle of Wight.
